Vitamin B7 Test Kit is designed for quantitative analysis of total Vitamin B7 in food and feed.

Sample and Vitamin B7 culture medium are added to the 96-microwell plate containing Lactobacillus plantarum subsp. lactis (leichmannii). If the sample contains Vitamin B7, the Lactobacillus plantarum will grow. After culturing at 37℃ for 44-48 hours, read the OD using a microplate reader at 610-630 nm (or 540-550 nm). The sample turbidity compared with the standard curve determines the Biotin content.

The Vitamin B7 Test Kit has capacity for 96 determinations or testing of 26 samples in duplicate (assuming 18 wells for standards). Return any unused microwells to the foil bag and reseal with the provided desiccant. Store the kit at 2-8℃. Shelf life is 6 months when properly stored.

For grain, infant food, bread, flour and dairy products: Take 1g sample to 50ml sterile centrifuge tube, add 40ml sterile water or deionized water, shake. Place in 95℃ water bath extraction for 30 minutes, shaking at least 5 times (ensure centrifugal tube is sealed), then quickly cool below 30℃. Use 0.2μm sterile membrane filtration to 1.5 or 2.0mL sterile reaction tube. Based on Vitamin B7 concentration range, use sterile water to filtrate for further dilution.
